DISC workshops

DISC team workshops for communication and performance

Most team friction is not about effort or intent. It is two people who process information differently, both doing their best, each reading the other as difficult. A DISC workshop makes that visible in a morning, and gives the team language for it that lasts.

Michele Smith, MHA, PCC, is a DISC Behavioral Analysis Certified Consultant. Each person completes the assessment online beforehand, which takes ten to fifteen minutes, and receives a personalized report on how they communicate, what they need under pressure and where their strengths tip into blind spots.

The workshop itself is where the value is. The group looks at its own profile as a team: who needs the detail before deciding and who needs the decision before the detail, who says the hard thing immediately and who goes quiet and writes it down later, and what that combination has been costing in meetings, handoffs and email.

From there the session gets specific. The team agrees how it will run meetings, how it will raise disagreement, and how it will ask for what each person needs, in their own words rather than a model’s. That agreement is what people quote back to each other three months later.

Workshops run from a half-day for a leadership team to a longer session with individual debriefs for each leader, and pair naturally with team coaching when a group wants to keep working on how it operates after the energy of the workshop fades.

  • Assessment and personal report

Ten to fifteen minutes online, with a personalized report for each participant.

  • A team profile

How this particular group communicates and decides, and where the predictable friction sits.

  • Practical agreements

How meetings run, how disagreement gets raised, and what each person needs to do their best work.

  • Individual debriefs

Optional one-to-one sessions so each leader can apply their report to their own team.

A few honest answers

Which DISC assessment do you use?

Michele is a DISC Behavioral Analysis Certified Consultant and uses the Maxwell DISC method, which produces an individual report on communication style, strengths and blind spots alongside the team view.

How long is a workshop?

A half-day works for most leadership teams. Larger groups, or teams that want individual debriefs built in, usually need a full day. The format is agreed in advance.

Is DISC used to label people?

No, and Michele is explicit about it in the room. A style is a description of preference, not a ceiling or an excuse. Nobody is sorted into a box they then have to live in.

Who sees the individual reports?

Each person owns their own report. The team session works from what people choose to share, and the aggregate picture, not from circulating everyone’s results.

Can individuals do this without the team?

Yes. The assessment and a private debrief with Michele is available on its own; the DISC page explains that option and its pricing.

What does a team workshop cost?

Reports are $150 per person, and the workshop itself is scoped to the size of the group and the format you want, after a free 20-minute discovery call.
